What is success? What defines success? Recently I found the
answer to that question in an essay called “Measuring Success” by Rennée Loth. Loth
said, “I found the definitions of success are mutable, shifting along with our
changing values.” (272) I agree, the definition of success changes throughout
our life time because our values change. In other words, success does not have
a definite definition. For example, when I was in high school I defined success
as being rich and happy. Today, I no longer consider having a lot of money as
part of being successful. I definitely think there is more to success than
being rich. Success is being happy, and content with what you have accomplished.
As I said, success does not have a definite definition because success is many
things. Ultimately, everyone has their own idea of what success means. So, what
does success mean to you?
Great post, Maggie! Your definition of success is right on and I like the way you left the reader with a question to ponder.
ReplyDeletei definitely agree! Success isn't always about money but being happy with what you have. [:
ReplyDeleteI love what you have to say about success. I think sucess means the same to me as it does to you. Great words! :)
